Songs That Tell A Story.

 So, for my first post I want to talk about songs that tell stories (Mainly R&B)

The first song I thought of was 'Same Girl' By Usher and R.Kelly.
So, in the song/music video Usher and R.Kelly are good friends who have a phone conversation about their girls, but when they start getting into detail, they find out their descriptions match and they think they're dating the same girl. It's quite an interesting song, and I quite like how it's not a typical song you hear all the time, it's different and has a good twist at the end with a good R&B beat in the background. 'Runaway Love' By Ludacris and Mary J. Blige.
When I first heard this song, my thoughts were 'That was deep' but to be honest, it's just what happens in the world and a lot of people are not aware of it.
The story talks about three girls who have different stories concerning families/friends etc. It's an interesting song to listen to with meaningful lyrics. I would say it's a rap song with a good beat behind it, a song you don't really expect rappers to do.


'Dance With My Father' Luther Vandross.
Okay so the final song I wanted to mention was this one. It's such a touching song about Luther Vandross when he was younger and the story of when his father died. It's quite slow and even though it's sad, there are also some nice memories Luther Vandross turned into lyrics and so it's definitely something worth listening to, not just the song but especially the lyrics.
Another song similiar to this is 'See you Again' By Starboy Nathan. He also talks about his Dad and it's quite uplifting with lyrics like 'When the sun comes out I think of you'


So this was my thoughts on a few songs with stories, I hope to post at least once a week, each post with a different theme. It's my first time doing something like this so if you have any ideas for me let me know.
